A FINAL GLANCE AT WHAT WE ONCE CALLED HOME
LOCATION: NSW, AUSTRALIA
Red Kangaroo and Sulphur Crested Cockatoo
This piece was done as a response to the Australian Bushfires. Harnessing and portraying the single and final moment where one has to leave home, leave their familiarity and their abode to venture on a journey unknown.
The vibrant and energetic heat and light of the oranges and yellows signify the moment of incoming change upon the land, upon their home. The palette is balanced by the cool blues signify the calm and hope of a positive and peaceful new future to come.
Showing these dual events as a balance within life. We ourselves often find moments in life when we must venture from the familiar into a direction of unknown possibilities and at these times we keep hope at heart that our new path will lead us to positivity.
As with the wilderness that was burnt by these fires, we now see new life flourish in those very areas today.
